Youth Interim Organizer

Reports To: The Interim Youth Organizer will report to the GMAACC Board.

From December to June 2023, the Interim Youth Organizer will work with the Board and Youth Organizer to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate GMAACC youth programs; maintain program records, files and documentation; manage external partnerships with school districts, schools, city, and community partners. In addition, they will be working with agency fiscal administrators to document program expenses, to support with grant-writing and report to funding sources.

The Interim Youth Organizer must be a motivated self-starter, working with an Operations and Membership Coordinator and an active and engaged working Board, who can help lay the groundwork for successful community programming and services for the Asian community in Malden.

This position is a contracted position, for 10 hours a week, with hourly pay commensurate with experience.

Youth Organizing Fellow

Reports To: The Youth Organizing Fellow will report to the GMAACC Youth Organizer.

The Youth Organizing Fellow to assist GMAACC’s Youth Organizer with the coordination, operations, and implementation of GMAACC youth programs throughout the 2023-2024 academic school year. 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Assist the GMAACC Youth Organizer with the recruitment and management of both the Youth Organizing Group (YOG) and the Youth Project on Asian Wellbeing (YPAW)

  • Collaborate with GMAACC Youth Organizer to create workshops, lesson plans, and write curriculum for weekly youth program political education topics

  • Facilitate communication between youth participants and youth program leaders to ensure the smooth functioning of GMAACC youth programs (YOG and YPAW)

  • Co-create, support, and empower program spaces with GMAACC Youth Leaders in their community-based project ideas throughout the school year  

Location: GMAACC youth programming is located at Malden High School, 77 Salem Street Malden MA 02148. The Youth Organizing Fellow is expected to work 8 hours per week following a hybrid schedule (4 hours in-person on Friday afternoons, 4 hours remote throughout the weekday).

Compensation: Applicants must have a federal work-study stipend allocated through the 2023-2024 academic year to be considered. This is a part-time fellowship position. The Organizing Fellow will be compensated through their work-study stipend.

Managing Director

Reports To: The Managing Director will report to the GMAACC Board.

Job Overview:  The Greater Malden Asian American Community Coalition (GMAACC) is a grassroots, community-led nonprofit that builds power with Asian American community members of the greater Malden area. Our work includes providing direct services, strengthening coalitions, and organizing to advocate for community well-being and equity. 

GMAACC is seeking a Managing Director to oversee programs and operations with the purpose of building GMAACC’s capacity. The incumbent fulfills this responsibility by developing systems intended to streamline operational structures and internal policies, supervising staff members, providing guidance and support for ongoing programs, and maintaining relationships with GMAACC members, volunteers, donors, and partners. 

The Director will focus on strategies and operational development to fulfill the goal of capacity building. The Director will organize discussions with the Board of directors and staff members on organizational directions and needs, implement action steps for the goals identified, support with hiring and other operational processes to build out GMAACC’s capacity, and will assist with operational tasks as necessary to sustain stability of the organization.

The Managing Director must be a motivated self-starter, working with an active and engaged working Board, who can help develop and implement systems and strategies for the Asian American community in Malden.

This position is a part-time position for 20 hours a week, with annual pay ranging from $30K-$40K, commensurate with experience.
